@ph1at1ine Glad I could sway you. I haven’t read any of the books you mentioned, so I’ll add them to my list. Gibson has definitely matured as a writer since Neuromancer. You should also give Pattern Recognition a try.

You actually convinced me to give Gibson a try. I’m not a big fan of his (although I love dark sci-fi like Altered Carbon, Consider Phlebas and the like) but Neuromancer is one of the better books I’ve read so maybe it was a mistake to go around Gibson’s work…

Nice to see a fellow Canadian writer getting a good plug. I hope Karl’s book is successful (a sequel can be a tricky business) and if you haven’t already, you should pick up a copy of a book by another fine Canuck scribbler, Peter Watts’ BLINDSIGHT (shortlisted for the Hugo Award). Keep writing up us Canadian spec fic guys, we appreciate it…

@gstott Yes, he has to physically travel to the location before he can jump there. This is actually a pretty cool limitation to his “power.”
